Travis Atreo is gearing up for the release of his new single “Language” this Friday. We have your first listen of the song right here as Travis world premieres the single. Travis admits, “The song is written about two people that understand each other fully in a romantic way. My girlfriend and I had gone to a trip Japan at the beginning of this year and it was inspired by being in a new place together and experiencing new things.” Travis had the opportunity to collaborate with Adam Nystrom on this track. Travis reveals, “Adam and I have been friends for a while and I’ve always respected his work and his work ethic. So when I felt like the song needed a verse, I instantly new that he would kill it. It was so fun because he’s such a great writer. This is definitely it the last time we work together.”

There is a lot of behind the scenes work that goes in to making music, especially as an independent artist. For Atreo, the “Language” singer shares that most of his music starts with writing a melody. “I start with writing a melody first and then figuring out what is on my heart the day I’m writing. I’m always taking note of the different life experiences that I go through, and mentally marking them down in my head, whether they are good or bad to use as ideas for future songs.” As for inspiration, Travis has most recently been inspired by Dan + Shay. “Recently, Dan and Shay because of their incredible writing and how they have taken their careers by the horns and are manifesting their future success in everything they do. When an artist can forge ahead in the way of their creative vision and own it, I’m always inspired by that.” Working in the industry as an independent artist, Travis admits that this path has taught him who he wants to be and what he wants to say. “Too many times artists want to be someone they are not but being independent has allowed me to explore and find the things that I’m not and zero in on who I am at my core. And hopefully through the music, people will find that out.”

As crazy as it sounds, we are already approaching the end of 2018. As Travis reflects on the past twelve months, Atreo reveals he is most thankful for his core group of family and friends that continue to support him, remind him who he is and what he is meant to do. “I’m also grateful for how far the music has reached and I’m excited to hopefully meet as many people as it has reached in 2019.” As we head in to 2019, Travis shares that he is looking forward to touring. “I’m hoping to tour domestically and internationally, specifically to Asia and Europe. I feel very blessed to have people stream my originals and covers and all I want to do is create a unique live experience.” Travis is currently hard at work putting together his album, which is slated for release on February 3rd. “I’m really excited about the new songs and can’t wait for every one to hear them. I think 2019 will be my most exciting year in music yet!”
