The entertainment industry is full of striving talent across the world. With this being one of the hardest industries to break in to, there is a point in time when we are blessed enough to witness a breakout. Jordan Fisher, 22, is quickly becoming an influential artist of the next generation. From his hit single "All About Us" to his in role in the FOX hit Grease Live, there is a promising future ahead for this triple threat.
In August 2014 I spent most of my time on the East Coast. Sitting in my living room one evening with the television on in the background, most of my attention was gravitated towards my phone. During a commercial break, the Disney Channel Circle of Stars came together and performed Frozen's "Do You Want To Build A Snowman?".
"Do you want to build a snowman? Or ride our bikes around the halls.”
Two brief lines from one artist in a group of talented individuals opened a never-ending series of questions to my younger siblings. About a month later I met with Jordan for the first time for an exclusive interview to discuss the video. Fisher reveals that the video aired on Disney Channel when he was in Puerto Rico filming the sequel to Teen Beach Movie. "I can't believe that I'm in Puerto Rico living a dream, working on the sequel to a Disney Channel musical." At one point in the interview Jordan teases the fans sharing that there was some exciting news on the way. "Unfortunately I'm not aloud to divulge that information to you just yet." With a few months of suspense, Jordan finally revealed that he had officially been signed to Hollywood Records and began working on original material. From appearing on MTV's Teen Wolf to guest starring on the Disney Channel original series Liv and Maddie, Jordan has remained consistent in the acting world while preparing for the release of his new music. Being on Liv and Maddie gave Fisher the best of both worlds as he had the opportunity to record a ballad for the show titled "True Love”. The track is available on Liv and Maddie (Music from the TV Series) which also includes a piano version featuring Dove Cameron. One of Jordan's greatest accomplishments was portraying the role of Doody in a special live production of Grease on FOX. Both fans and press fell in love with Fisher as he performed "Those Magic Changes" featuring Aaron Tveit. The song went on to become the most download track from the live television event. He even got major love from Ariana Grande at 102.7 KIISFM's Wango Tago in Los Angeles. Ariana admits "When I heard him sing the first time, I was falling asleep and Grease Live was on TV." She reveals that "Magic Changes" was the only song she downloaded from the entire soundtrack. This young star is respected not only by his family, friends and fans, he has the love and support from the industry as well.
Everything seems to be coming together for Radio Disney's Next Big Thing. Following the release his self-titled EP featuring "All About Us" and "Lookin' Like That”, Jordan and I reunited on the blue carpet of Arthur Ashe Kids' Day in New York. Fisher reveals "Out of the last ninety songs that I've written and recorded over the past year and a half, we found four that were already on the album." These four tracks featured on Jordan's selftitled EP gives us a tease of what to expect on his full-length release due out next year. With a long list of accomplishments, we can only imagine where Jordan may end up next. Nonetheless, we know that there is a bright future ahead and we can't wait to be there every step of the way.
