In the Summer of ’17 Carly Pearce broke into the country music scene with her debut single “Every Little Thing”. The newcomer has a bright future ahead, but admits that the vision has always been clear. “Oh gosh, as crazy as it sounds, I truly have never known a day in my life that I didn't want to sing country music. I feel like it was my destiny.” Carly’s mom recalls the only thing that would keep her from crying as a baby is country music.
The music industry as a whole is very unexpected. There is no guarantee you will make it, or even have a hit. Pearce has lived in Nashville for nine years and has had every person in the business tell her “no”. “I got a record deal and lost it, cleaned air bnbs to pay my rent and was a backup singer for Pretty Little Liar's star Lucy Hale. I've never had a backup plan. I was willing to do whatever I could to stay in Nashville and keep working, even when sometimes I would cry myself to sleep wondering if it would truly ever happen for me as an artist.” Needless to say, Carly has worked very hard to get where she is today.
After all of the rejection and hard work, Carly finally landed a deal with Big Machine Records, releasing her debut album “Every Little Thing” in October of last year. “I named the album "Every Little Thing" obviously because of the song, but also because I feel like you're learning "every little thing" about who I am as a person, my influences, why I love country music and the stories that have shaped me into the woman that I am. My producer busbee and I had been working on writing for what we hoped would be my debut album for over 2 years, so when we finally got the opportunity to release one, so much of the vision was already there.” When it comes to songwriting, Carly admits that every day is different. “Some days I walk in with a title or a melody in my head, sometimes I walk in with something that happened to me and we talk it out, sometimes I cry and cry and we finally turn whatever that is into a song (ha!).” Carly reveals that it really depends on the day and what kind of mood it brings which she believes is the beauty of art. “It's raw and real.”
With the success of “Every Little Thing”, Pearce managed to snag a nomination for New Female Vocalist of the Year at the ACM’s this year. “To be recognized as a female worthy to be in this category is something I'll never take for granted. I have watched from my couch every year and wondered what it would be like to hear my name be called as a nominee, so this is a really special moment.” Carly reveals that she was on the plane when she heard she was nominated. “I was streaming the announcement of the nominees live and when they called my name, I screamed so loud. The flight attendants were so sweet and announced it over the speakers and everyone cheered for me. It was a moment I'll never forget.” The Fifty-Third Annual ACM Awards will air live from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on Sunday April 15th at 8/7c on ABC!
The past year of Carly’s career has been one to remember, but she is just getting started. “I’m really looking forward to being out on tour with Blake Shelton, Thomas Rhett, Rascal Flatts AND Luke Bryan this year. I cannot wait to be able to learn from these amazing guys and have the chance to play for their fans. I hope that by the end of 2018, country music fans know me as Carly Pearce and not just "the girl that sings Every Little Thing." Pearce admits that the crowd reaction is her favorite part about getting the opportunity to perform her music live. “I absolutely love playing live because it's a direct connection to the fans and a way for me to be able to thank each and every person who has changed my life over the last year and given me the life I've always dreamed of.”

As mentioned before, the music industry is very unexpected. Carly has many moments to be proud of including “Every Little Thing” going number one! “Being a new artist is SO tough, then you add that I'm a female, then sprinkle on top of that the fact that I released a heartbreak ballad in the SUMMER. All the odds were against me, but it proved to break down all the rules. I am really proud of that.” We have a feeling Carly has many more hit singles ahead.
